Jim Soleymanlou, Founder and Managing Partner

Jim Soleymanlou is the Founder and Managing Partner of RainMakers, bringing a substantial track record of creative deal making, including:

• First FCPI Secondary Direct transaction in France, for Seventure Partners
• First to establish the principle that a General Partner can sell the interests held within a vehicle to another vehicle under its own management, with a different set of LPs, under certain conditions, and under supervision of AMF - French regulatory authorities. 
• One of the few Recapitalizations of an SBIC fund in the United States, in a complex $80m transaction involving over 70 LPs  
• Secondary Direct transaction for BNP-Paribas Private Equity.

Jim started his career in 1988 as a derivatives technologist, working with Sophis and Société Générale CIB, developing sophisticated interest rates and equity derivatives trading and risk management models.

Later, Jim held senior management positions at companies such as Opt4 Derivatives in Berkeley, California, Login SA and SunGard in Paris, France.
Jim has frequently served as an Expert Witness for the French Department of Justice.

Jim holds a MSc in Computer Science from University of Paris VI, and an MBA from University of Chicago.
